- Legal mumbo-jumbo:
- ------------------
-
- I created these myself; no help from others. Well; I did use two Imagine objects that I didn't make
- myself. I'm sorry; I can't remember who made them, but they're good objects - if you recognise your
- work, then well done from me!
-
- Also, and I apologise for this as well, the brush for the photographs in "Darkroom" is the clown that
- comes with PPaint... The test strip was made by me, but is still the clown...
-
- Please feel free to use these images on anything (apart from collections called "Worst Graphics
- Ever!" of course), but give me the credit. Please send me a copy of whatever it is you use these
- things on; if you don't, then at least include my name in the documentation. If you send me a program
- which uses these, then I might even review it in the #AmigaZone webpage which I run.
-
- Don't ever EVER say that you did these, because you didn't. If I hear of it; I'll break your legs. :)
-
- If your eyes fall out and/or your brain melts while you're looking at these, it's not my fault; I
- can't accept responsibility for any adverse effects of viewing these pictures.
-
-
- Shameless plug:
- ---------------
-
- I don't just do pictures; I do websites and music mods too. I run the website for the #AmigaZone IRC
- channel on dal.net. As well as information on our users, the site also contains links, reviews and
- various articles. The URL is:
-
- http://www.tsd-ltd.demon.co.uk
-
- As for my mods, I sometimes upload these to the Aminet. If you want to find these, then search for:
-
- "Highlander" or "Hairydrummer"
-
-
- About the images:
- -----------------
-
- I used:
-
- Eagle E1200T-040/40 (Commodore UK A1200 motherboard) - OS 3.1
- Blizzard 1240T/ERC 68040 40MHz
- 16MB Fast RAM
- 14" Microvitech Deltascan 1402 multisync monitor
- 4-Way Buffered IDE interface
- 1.2GB Quantum Bigfoot 5.25" EIDE HD
- 260MB Seagate 2.5" IDE HD
- 12x Samsung ATAPI CDROM
-
- Running:
-
- Cloanto PersonalPaint 7 (Thanks, Amiga Format!)
- VistaPro 3.0 (full version)
- Imagine 4.0 (from CU Amiga... sorry...)
- Cinema4D 2 (Thanks again, Amiga Format!)
-
- To create these images:
-
- "F-15" (F15.lbm) - An F-15E Eagle streaks ahead of its high-altitude vapour trails
- "T-38 Talon" (T38.lbm) - A T-38 Talon being prepped for a dawn takeoff
- "Banked Turn" (BankedTurn.lbm) - A US Navy F/A-18 Hornet pulling into a gentle turn
- "City At Night" (City.lbm) - Lights from a small city
- "Climber" (Climber.lbm) - Scaling a treacherous overhang is a lone climber
- "Chrome Man" (ChromeMan.lbm) - A complete cliche...
- "T-45" (T-45.lbm) - With Hawaii as a backdrop, a T-45 makes a routine training flight
- "Darkroom" (Camera.lbm) - A typical scene from a photographic darkroom
- "Islands" (Islands.lbm)
- "Islands" (Island2.lbm)
- "Islands" (Island3.lbm)
- "Islands" (Island4.lbm) - Fictional islands, created with the mind of VistaPro
-
- It should be noted that the longest VistaPro render I have made for this lot took about 20 minutes -
- such is the power of the 68040...
-
- The longest time for a hand-drawn image was for "T-38 Talon" - this took 3 weeks, but I wasn't really
- concentrating...
-
- Imagine renders on my machine rarely take long, but "Banked Turn" took a while because the F-18
- object is so complicated. It's a very good object; very accurate. I need to use VMM to use more than
- two of them in the same picture...
-
- "Darkroom" took about 40 minutes.

- About the author:
- -----------------
-
- My name's Graeme Porter (of course, you'll know that from the drawer name). I'm an 18 year old
- student from Thurso, which is the most Northerly town in mainland Scotland.
-
- My hobbies include playing drums, keyboards, vocals, and I'm learning guitar. I love writing mods
- with SoundStudio, but since Amiga Format isn't allowed to put these on their CD, I put them on
- Aminet. I also enjoy writing the #AmigaZone webpages.
-
- My favourite bands are Dream Theater (best progressive metal band EVER), Ocean Colour Scene, Page &
- Plant, Green Day, Manic Street Preachers, and Del Amitri.
-
- I like to play Quake - a lot. My Quake drawer occupies over 160MB of my 210MB games partition - I
- have quite a number of Quake conversions, ranging from a Mechwarrior game to a sort-of snow-boarding
- simulator. My average frame rate for Quake is about 6 fps with sound, although in a dark corner of a
- room using the "timerefresh" command I have acheived the dizzy heights of 18 fps... Lowest it's ever
- been is 2 fps, but that's because there was a lot of bad guys and explosions. I don't have a 24-bit
- gfx board either.
-
- I have completed Quake with no cheats on Normal mode, and I'm now working on doing the same on Hard
- mode. PS - Hard mode is quite a lot more difficult than Normal mode... :/
-
- If you want to contact the author, then you can do one of the following:
-
- 1) e-mail me
-
- My address is:
-
- graeme@tsd-ltd.demon.co.uk
-
- 2) ICQ him (messages only; no live chat please)
-
- My ICQ# is: 15435174
-
- 3) Meet me on IRC
-
- I only hang out on dal.net, and only on Saturday evenings. You'll either find me in #AmigaZone or in
- #3eb, but if I'm in #3eb, just /msg me - please don't join #3eb... My nick is "The_Highlander".
